My Network, References and Contacts
Building relationships with intention and purpose.
Enhancing my network.
5-Year Networking Purpose Statement
Over the next five years, I aim to expand my professional network by connecting with mentors aligned with my career goals. In the short term, I plan to build relationships with mentors in the biomedical engineering (BME) field, both in academia and industry. Long term, I hope to collaborate with experts in the biochemical engineering and the petroleum sectors, bridging the biomedical and biochemical fields through fluidics. These connections will be cultivated by attending pharmaceutical and BME networking events often, alongside actively improving my speaking skills and confidence. As I gain more experience, I seek to foster relationships with chemical and process engineers in the oil and gas industry. Ultimately, I aspire to give back by mentoring students who are in the same position I am now, offering guidance to support their academic and career growth.
Mentors who have fostered my growth.
Dr. Jessica Kalra
Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, UBC
About her mentorship
Throughout the past two years of my undergraduate degree in the pharmaceutical sciences, Dr. Kalra has supported me throughout my educational journey and helped me navigate my future career desires. She has always been an open-ear for providing advice and guidance, in addition to organizing and facilitating our exposure to professionals and careers in various aspects of the pharmaceutical sciences. She is an incredible and strong woman in STEM, which is truly inspiring, and because of her mentorship, I now feel as though I have a clear direction I would like to head towards in my career.
